Dwarfism, characterized by either short limbs or a short torso or in cases of proportionate dwarfism, both the limbs and torso are unusually small and have normal intelligence and lifespan. It can be caused due to bone growth disorders which can sometimes be treated with surgery, or physical therapy. If it is due to hormone disorders, it can be treated with hormone replacement therapy as well before the child’s growth plates fuse.
