Tooth decay, besides being painful, can lead to abscess, weight loss, broken or cracked teeth, shifting position of permanent teeth, premature loss of baby teeth and Sepsis or Bacterial infections inside blood stream. When decay has destroyed the structure of a tooth or when it begins to harm other teeth, the tooth must be removed. Once the tooth is removed, it will also need to be replaced with a dental implant or restoration.
