Joint injections can be a useful diagnostic and therapeutic tool in managing joint pain. There are few side effects, but some can include tendon rupture or infection. Given the possibility of side effects, frequent joint injections to the same site are sometimes discouraged. Complications may include whitening of the skin at the injection site and thinning of the skin. Also, knee bracing helps in providing relief.
