This disorder is called Sleepwalking wherein a person gets up and walks around or does other kinds of activities while one is still sleeping. During the course of a night, you experience various stages of sleep, including light sleep and deep sleep. Sleepwalking usually happens during deep sleep in the early part of the night. In kids, the reasons for sleepwalking are unknown, though it typically is thought to be caused by anxiety, lack of sleep and fatigue. It most often occurs in children ages 5 to 12. When adults sleepwalk, it is often caused by: Alcohol; Medical conditions, such as partial complex seizures; Medications; Mental disorders and Sedatives. Sleepwalking can run in families.
