Expert Toc on World Stroke Day – 29th of October

This is October 2019 and we are in Stroke month, 29th of October is World Stroke day. why do we have a day in a year dedicated to spreading awareness about this diseases because the stroke is the third most common cause of mortality and the most common cause for acquired neurological disability amongst adults worldwide. so it’s a very very important condition that we all need to be aware of.

one of the things i have had encountered in my practice when i am interacting with patients who had strokes specially their family members there some seems to be some sense of inevitability . it’s almost as if we think that you know you cannot escape the sword of stroke, but the facts are quite the opposite.

Stroke is Preventable. stroke is typically the results of vascular risk factors namely high blood pressures, diabetes , high blood cholesterol, heart conditions and a poor lifestyle. each and every one of this aspects is completely preventable. the message that should go out to the person seeing this video is that Stoke is preventable, take action if you have high blood pressure , diabetes , high blood cholesterol, heart condition meet the physician and have these optimized and if you already survived stoke you have to be all the more careful insuring that these vascular risk factors are kept under control to prevent another stroke from striking you. So this month October 2019, lets everyone of us look within and without amongst our close circle of family and friends to see how we can prevent this terrible neurological disorder.
